Tazewell County Jaycees Monthly Trivia Night

The Tazewell County Jaycees will be hosting a Trivia Night on Thursday, November 10th starting at 6:30pm at EP’s Timeout (1011 E. Washington St.) in East Peoria to raise funds for Nothing But Nets, a global campaign to combat malaria, one of the largest killers of children in Africa.

Nothing But Nets is a global grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. Inspired by ESPN columnist Rick Reilly, thousands of people have joined the campaign that was created by the United Nations Foundation in 2006.

Malaria is preventable, but infects nearly 500 million people each year and kills more than 1 million of those who become infected. Ninety percent of deaths caused by malaria occur in Africa, where the disease is a leading killer of children. Every 30 seconds a child dies from malaria. Children who are able to survive the disease are faced with physical and mental impairments, such as poor growth and development.  For more information about Nothing But Nets go to www.NothingButNets.net.

A two to ten person team will be able to play 8 rounds of 10 questions for $10.00 per person or $5.00 per person for Jaycees.  Individuals are welcome to attend with or without a team.  Registration begins at 6pm with play starting at 6:30pm.  Throughout the evening a 50/50 raffle will be conducted along with door prizes being awarded.  The winning team will be awarded a traveling trophy, free admission and 2 free pizzas from EP’s Timeout at the next trivia night.

If you would like to reserve a table for your team please contact the Tazewell County Jaycees at TazCoJaycees@yahoo.com.  Please note that reservations are preferred, but not required.
