South Side Bank Opens New Pekin Location on May 2

South Side Trust & Savings Bank is pleased to announce the opening of their new Pekin location at 3200 Veterans Drive (across from Menards) in Pekin, Illinois on Monday, May 2nd, 2011.  A ribbon cutting will be held on Monday, May 16th, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.  The Grand Opening Celebration will be held Monday, May 16th through Saturday, May 21st, with refreshments and door prizes all week long.

Please take a moment to stop by and visit with Thomas (Chip) Hill, a graduate of Illinois State University and a life-long resident of Pekin, who will manage the new facility.  The new full-service branch offers a complete line of financial products and services – including checking and savings accounts, CDs, money markets, personal and business lending, and much more.  The branch houses 315 safe deposit boxes and presents a complete range of Brokerage and Trust Services.  It features three drive-up teller lanes, two of which are equipped with two-way television monitors, as well as a drive-up ATM on the property.  The Pekin Branch will be open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The telephone number is (309) 353-4833.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
